  • 11.10.09 - Interlands: How to get Selected for England!

England Juniors Selection Policy for Interland 2010

Interland is an International between Belgium, Germany, Holland and England. In 2010 it will be held in NE Belgium on 7th March 2010. Selection will be based on the following events:

    • South Central November Classic (SOC) Sunday 1st November 2009
    • East Midlands Eyam (DVO) Sunday 15th November 2009
    • West Midlands National Event (WCH) Sunday 13th December 2009
and all known form up until the end of 2009.

It is anticipated that juniors wishing to be considered for selection will compete in 2 of the 3 races listed.

In keeping with the objectives of the England Selectors to use this competition to provide experience, it is unlikely that the Junior Selectors will consider members of the Great Britain Junior Performance Squad for selection.

It is likely that the composition of the Junior team will be 3 M/W14, 3 M/W16 and 1 M/W18. It is unlikely that the selectors will consider juniors in 'bottom year' M/W14 ie born in 1997.

At all events Juniors should run the course corresponding to their age class in 2010.

    For Regional events juniors will be expected to run the following 'colour coded' courses;

    • M14/W14 - Light Green
    • W16 - Green
    • M16 - Blue
    • W18 - Short Blue
    • M18 - Short Brown
At the National Event Juniors should run their 2010 age class.

  • 11.10.09 - A very late JIRCs Report

Apologies for putting this up so late, but you can now read Jeff's Manager's Report on the Junior Inter-regionals. If you never saw how we all did, check it out!

  • 11.08.09 - Website gets rebuild

www.swjs.co.uk is now officially finished. You wont notice many changes, but the site has actually been completely rebuilt now that the webmaster actually knows how to build websites. This should stop any random visual weirdness that some dodgy code was creating, especially in Internet Explorer which is particularly unforgiving towards novice web designers, and we're now compliant with some web standards.
    Woot. :)

  • 31.03.09 - Next SWJS Weekend, response needed by 7 April

The next SWJOS weekend is the weekend of Saturday 9/Sunday 10 May 2009 when we will be competing at the British Sprint & Middle distance races. We will be staying at a village hall on the Saturday night but I don't know where as yet. Not sure yet if we will cater or go out on the Saturday for a take away.

The first entry deadline is mid April and I would like to put entries in before this date. I'm away from next Thursday, 8th April so please respond to this email by Tuesday 7th April letting me know whether or not you will be attending. I will pay and then collect money from you all at the event. This will ensure that we all have similar start times on the Saturday.

We will be able to supply some transport but if any of your parents would like to come along and have room in cars then please let me know.

Details for the sprint event are here.

I will need to know your age class, course you would like to run, BOF number and SI/EMIT numbers if you have one.

Further details regarding accommodation and travel will be sent out once I know who is coming along to the weekend.
